Construits en bois, papier et carton récupéré, la Forteresse et le Renard Endormi ont été créés dans le cadre de la Journée Mondiale des Zones Humides qui œuvre pour la protection du littoral . Passerelle entre les acteurs de la protection environnementale et les artiste, la Galerie Éphémère chapeaute cette exposition collective éphémère qui prend place en plein cœur d'un ancien marais salant à Villeneuve-lès-Maguelones.
Built with wood, paper and cardboard, the Fortress & the Sleeping Fox have been created for the World Wetlands Day, and curated by la Galerie Éphémère. This 3-days collective exhibition is mixing nature awareness and contemporary arts.

Que deviennent la faune et la flore avec l’urbanisation croissante? Pour la Journée Mondiale des Zones Humides, nous avons choisi d’interpeller le public sur la protection du littoral. Au cœur des anciens marais salants de Villeneuve-lès-Maguelones, près de Sète, la Galerie Éphémère invite chaque année des artistes à investir un cabanon jadis utilisé pour les travailleurs du sel. Dans une démarche d’upcycling et de récupération de matériaux, tout en carton, bois et papier, voici un immeuble, un quartier, une ville. La cité s’étend sur une colline vallonnée, à flanc de coteau. Une colline? Non, une créature. Un immense renard endormi sur lequel a poussé cette forteresse. A la surface de l’eau, entre les nénuphars, quelques aigrettes garzettes viennent bleuir la composition. A la fois miniature et imposante, minuscule et géante, puissante mais fragile, la ville cohabite avec une faune discrète. C’est la forteresse qui nous représente, nous qui avons élu domicile sur le dos d’un géant endormi.

What happens to fauna and flora with wild urbanization? For the International Wetlands Day, we chose to question about the protection of the seaboard. In the midst of the former salt marshes of Villeneuve-lès-Maguelones, near the city of Sète, every year the Galerie Éphémère invites a selection of artists to invest old barracks once used by salt workers. Using upcycling and recovered materials, all in cardboard, wood and paper, we built a building, a neighborhood, a city. The city extends on an abrupt hill. A hill? No, a creature. A giant sleeping fox on which has sprouted this fortress. On the surface of the water, between the water lilies, stands a herd of blue Little Egrets. Both miniature and towering, tiny and giant, powerful but fragile, the city coexists with a discrete fauna. This fortress represents us, we are the ones who are occupying the back of a sleeping giant.
